The photographer took these collections of images to highlight places that would have normally been bustling with people. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, these places have now become a virtual ghost town. Her choice to photograph her images straight on, makes the audience have a sense and clear understanding of what they are viewing in front of them. It allows them to have a chance to reflect, relate and engage what type of message the photographer is trying to deliver. As you can see from the images the message which Shakai is portraying here is hope, and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. That there is hope for the future and healing for everyone that has been affected during this lockdown. The images tell a meaningful and touching story that while heart-warming and emotional, these imaginations will be a talking point for the next generation and remembered for a lifetime.
